New Delhi. This month, the proposed Indian Women’s League (IWL) football tournament in Odisha was postponed indefinitely on Tuesday due to a rising case of Kovid-19 in the state. Giving this information, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) said that the tournament will be decided later. Earlier, the AIFF had said that the tournament would be held in May.

“The Hero Indian Women’s League, to be held in Odisha at the end of this month, has been deferred till further notice,” according to a statement issued by the AIFF. The AIFF said the decision was due to the increasing number of corona virus epidemics in the state. The middle was taken after discussions with Odisha Sports (State Sports Department) keeping in mind the safety of the players and officials.

He said, “After the improvement in health standards, AIFF will take stock of the situation with Odisha Sports and participating teams.”

The AIFF also postponed the playoff matches of this tournament three days ago. The playoff matches were to be played in Delhi from Wednesday. Cases of Kovid-19 are increasing in Odisha. In the state, 573 cases of corona virus infection were registered on Monday and 588 on Tuesday.
