Wimbledon 2021: Defending champion Simona Halep out with injury, Osaka-Nadal already out

London. Defending champion Simona Halep decided to pull out of Wimbledon on Friday due to a left calf injury. Romania’s Simona Halep, ranked third in the world rankings, would have been seeded second at Wimbledon as second-ranked Naomi Osaka has already pulled out of the tournament.

Simona Halep suffered this injury during the Italian Open in May. His goal was to make a comeback from the French Open. This 29-year-old player became the champion in the Rola Garros (French Open) in 2018. Wimbledon was not held last year due to the Corona virus epidemic.
