Mumbai. Darrell Kumar, who plays a boxer in the upcoming film Toofan, was trained for the role by Hollywood star Will Smith’s trainer Darrell Foster. The actor called it a memorable moment.
Darshan said, “I remember in our first meeting, Darrell said that he would teach me to take a punch and not a fake punch as a real one. He would train me as a real pro boxer, not for a film.”
“The audience will feel like watching the film. They will feel like they are watching two real pro boxers,” he claimed.
Darshan shared that the entire training session with Foster lasted a month from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“They were one of the best moments of my life that I will cherish for the rest of my life,” he said.
Toofan is the story of a boxer, played by Farhan Akhtar, who goes beyond his limits to win in boxing. The film also stars Paresh Rawal as a boxing coach, and is scheduled to release on July 16 on Amazon Prime Video. (IANS)
