Digital Desk (Bhopal). Actor Pankaj Tripathi, after working on the web series Criminal Justice: Behind Closed Doors, says he is able to understand why women keep quiet after their marriage on issues ranging from domestic violence to sexual abuse. The story of this web series has been woven around Anu Chandra. This character is played by Keerthi Kulhari. It highlights sexual abuse in marital life. It is shown how a victim suffers many tortures inside a closed door. Pankaj is playing the role of a lawyer in the series. He fights Anu’s case.
Pankaj says, I was unaware why women keep quiet when they go through some kind of torture in their personal lives. When they are asked to share their problem with others, they remain silent. As a man, I did not really understand them.
The actor further said, this issue exists in our society, whether it is a city or a village, then why does no one openly talk about them. But after settling the case of Madhav Mishra playing the character and why Anuradha Chandra murdered her husband, I finally understood why most women like him are not being vocal about their problems.
He further says, especially these problems are related to the married life of women, because obviously the demand of the society has been that the closed doors should not come out in any way. Through this show, we would expect more and more women to speak openly on their problems and take appropriate steps for themselves.
Pankaj is seen talking about the importance of consent before sex in a video with actors like Prateik Gandhi, Vijay Verma, Pavel Gulati, Nakula Mehta and Karan Thakkar. In the video, he says, having sex without consent is sexual. There is exploitation, whether it is before marriage or after.
Criminal Justice: Behind the Closed Doors also features Jishu Sengupta, Ashish Vidyarthi, Shilpa Shukla, Pankaj Saraswat, Ayaz Khan, Kalyan Mule, Ajit Singh Palawat, Khushboo Atre and Tirtha Murbadkar. It is being streamed on Disney Plus Hotstar VIP.
