Digital Desk, Washington. The death toll from Kovid-19 in the US has crossed 675,000, which is more than the estimated deaths from the 1918 influenza pandemic.
As of 4:21 pm, 675,446 Americans had died due to Kovid-19, Xinhua news agency reported on Monday, citing data from Johns Hopkins University. The total Kovid-19 cases in the country are more than 4.2 crores.
The country is currently facing another wave of the new delta virus, which is expected to continue increasing the death toll. Tom Frieden, former head of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, tweeted on September 13 that the number of Covid deaths in the US this month will exceed the toll of the 1918 flu pandemic.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the 1918 flu killed an estimated 675,000 Americans. It was believed to be the deadliest pandemic ever in recent history.
