Universe boss Chris Gayle hits 14,000-run mark, becomes first batsman to do so in T20 cricket

In the third T20 International match of the five-match series against Australia, Gayle scored 67 runs in 38 balls with the help of seven sixes and four fours. During this innings, Gayle completed 14,000 runs in T20 cricket as soon as he scored his 29th run. Chris Gayle is the first batsman in the world to touch the 14,000-run mark in T20 cricket.

Before this match, Gayle had 13,971 runs in T20 cricket, with an innings of 67 runs he crossed the 14,000-run mark. West Indies beat Australia by six wickets on the back of Gayle’s batting.

‘Universe Boss’ Chris Gayle now has 14,038 runs in 431 T20 matches at an average of 37.63. During this, his bat has scored 22 centuries and 87 half-centuries. Kieron Pollard of West Indies is second in this list with 10,836 runs in 545 matches. Former Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik is at number three in this list. Shoaib Malik has so far scored 10741 runs in 425 T20 matches.

Indian team captain Virat Kohli is the highest run-scorer Indian batsman in T20 cricket. Kohli has so far scored 9,922 runs in 310 T20Is at an average of 41.86, including five centuries and 72 half-centuries. Kohli is at number five in this list.

In the third match of the series, Australia won the toss and decided to bat first. Australia scored 141 runs in the allotted 20 overs for the loss of six wickets. Moises Henriques scored 33, while captain Aaron Finch scored 30 runs, while Hayden Walsh Jr took two wickets for 18 runs for West Indies.

In reply, West Indies fell within 42 runs for two wickets. Andre Fletcher and Lendley Simmons were dismissed for four and 15 runs respectively. After this Gayle and Nicholas Pooran together ensured the victory of West Indies. Pooran returned not out after scoring 32 runs.
