New Delhi, June 14 (IANS). The trial of corona vaccine on children aged 6 to 12 years will start from Tuesday at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). With this the screening will also start. Sources said that from Tuesday, the recruitment and clinical trial of children of 6-12 years will start. Trial has started on 6-12 year old children in AIIMS Patna. The vaccine will be given to the participants after the screening report is received. The trial will ensure that Bharat Biotech’s vaccine is suitable for children. Delhi AIIMS has decided to start this trial drive after the completion of clinical trials and recruitment of single dose vaccine for 12-18 age group. After recruiting 6-12 year olds, AIIMS Delhi will conduct trials for 2-6 year olds. The tests are taking place at 525 centres.

Screening of children for single-dose covaccine trials in children aged 2 to 18 years will begin on June 7 at AIIMS, New Delhi, after India’s drug regulator allowed Phase II and III clinical trials of Covaccine. It’s over The drug regulator had on May 12 allowed tests for the age group 2 to 18 years. AIIMS Patna, Mysore Medical College and Research Institute in Karnataka have also been selected to conduct clinical trials on children.

In such a situation, the government is working in this direction. The purpose of conducting clinical trials of the vaccine on young children is to include them in vaccination before the third wave of corona starts in the country. In the third wave of corona by experts and scientists, children are being told more at risk, due to which vaccines are being tested on children all over the world. Under this global campaign, a clinical trial of the vaccine on children is now being started in India as well.

Recently, NITI Aayog Member (Health) V.K. Paul said in a press conference that a national expert group has been constituted to review the COVID-19 infection among children and strengthen the nation’s preparedness. He also told that the group has examined the signals which were not available four-five months ago.
