Yuki Bhambri of India will lead the Delhi Binny’s Brigade challenge in the Tennis Premier League 3.0 to be held in Mumbai later this year. Yuki was bought for Rs 4.20 lakh in the auction here on Tuesday and Manish Suresh Kumar was also successful in making a place in the team.

Yuki was bought for Rs 4.20 lakh in the auction here on Tuesday and Manish Suresh Kumar was also successful in making a place in the team. Among women, Thailand’s Pangtarna Plipuh was selected, whose world ranking is 294.

The Tennis Premier League (TPL) will be attended by five international women players, including Samantha Murray Sharon, Diana Marsinkevichar, Sabina Sharipova, Valeria Strakova and Sofia Shapatava, besides Pangarnaran. Mumbai Leone Army co-owner is Leander Paes, who selected Ramkumar Ramanathan for Rs 4.5 lakhs, which was sold in the highest amount.

India’s top-ranked male player Prajnesh Gunneswaran was bought by Rajasthan Tigers for Rs 3.70 lakh while Saket Myneni was bought by Pune Jaguars for Rs 4.40 lakh. Gujarat Panthers added Divij Sharan for Rs 4.10 lakh while Purav Raja was included in the Chennai Stallions for Rs 3 lakh by his team.

Ankita Raina was the player to get the highest amount among women players, who were taken by Hyderabad Strikers for Rs 4.10 lakh. Rutuja Bhosale was bought by Pune Jaguars for three lakh rupees. A team bought two men and a woman player in the auction while one man and woman players for each team would be selected from the ‘Talent Days’ to be held after June. Apart from the owners of the eight teams, co-owner Leander Paes, Rakul Preet Singh, Sonali Bendre Bahl and Divya Khosla Kumar were also present to select the best players for their teams. “The Tennis Premier League has progressed very well since its inception and I am thrilled for its third season,” the press release said.

Eight teams will take on the Pune Jaguars, Bengaluru Spartans, Delhi Binny’s Brigade, Gujarat Panthers, Mumbai Leon Army, Chennai Stallions, Rajasthan Tigers and Finecab Hyderabad Styles for the title.
