On Saturday, the Taliban also captured Mazar-e-Sharif, Afghanistan’s fourth largest city. Afghan MP has claimed the possession of Taliban fighters on Mazar-e-Sharif. He said that Mazar-e-Sharif, the capital of Balkh province, has come under the Taliban’s control, after the insurgents launched a major attack there.

Munir Ahmed Farhad, spokesman for the provincial governor in northern Balkh province, says that since August 14, the Taliban launched attacks from multiple directions.
