Tahira Kashyap makes her directorial debut with ‘Sharmaji Ki Beti’

Mumbai. Writer-director Tahira Kashyap Khurrana has announced her first directorial feature film ‘Sharmaji Ki Beti’. He started shooting for the film in Mumbai and Chandigarh this month. The film is a multi-generational comedy-drama about the modern, middle-class female experience. The film stars Sakshi Tanwar, Divya Dutta and Saiyami Kher. The film gives a glimpse into the lives of urban women.

On her directorial debut feature film, writer-director Tahira said that ‘Sharmaji Ki Beti’ is like an extension of my personality as it is inspired by various incidents and characters that I have met, experienced and witnessed in real life. This film will always be very special for me as it is the first script that I have written.

Tahira has directed the critically acclaimed short films ‘Toffee’ and ‘Quarantine Crush’ in the anthology series ‘Feels Like Ishq’.

He continued, “I am thrilled that this feature film is coming to life as my directorial debut in space. It is a happy, relatable, emotional and inspiring narrative with a perfect balance of emotions. There is amalgamation.
