T20 World Cup: Oman made a strong start, thrashed PNG by 10 wickets

Oman won the match by 10 wickets on the basis of excellent performance by their bowlers and batsmen. This is the team’s biggest win in the T20 World Cup.

The team achieved the target of 130 runs without a wicket in 13.4 overs. Jatinder Singh remained unbeaten on 73 and Aaqib Ilyas on 50. Jatinder faced 42 balls.

Both added 131 runs for the first wicket and returned unbeaten. Jatinder gave the team victory with a six on Charles Amini.

Captain Asad dominates from PNG

Earlier, Oman captain Zeeshan Masood won the toss and decided to bowl first. Batting first, Papua New Guinea scored 129 for 9. Captain Asad Wala batted brilliantly and scored 56 runs.

He faced 43 balls. Hit 4 fours and 3 sixes. Charles Amini also contributed 37 runs. The team’s score was 102 runs for 3 wickets at one time. However, the team lost 2 wickets for zero runs.

Oman captain took 4 wickets

The team could not show a good game in the last overs. Oman’s captain and left-arm spin bowler Zeeshan Maqsood took 3 wickets in the 16th over. He took 4 wickets for 20 runs in the match. Bilal Khan and Kalimullah got 2-2 wickets.
