Skin During Pregnancy : Pregnancy is one of the happiest feeling for every mother. At the same time, there are no less challenges in it. During pregnancy, due to many hormonal changes in the body of the woman, physical and mental differences are seen. Which the woman experiences in a long journey of nine months. Some changes end after pregnancy, some remain for a long time. It also includes problems related to skin changes. Like your physical and mental health, any changes in your skin should not be taken lightly. Today we are telling you five changes that you should pay attention to during pregnancy and contact your dermatologist.
During pregnancy, women experience all kinds of changes in their moles. According to the statistics, during this time about 10 percent of women complain of a change in their existing mole. Most of these changes are temporary, caused by stretching of the skin, especially in areas such as the breasts and abdomen. There is no need to panic with such moles. However, some changes can be a sign of possible skin cancer and regular check-ups can help prevent it at an early stage. So, look for moles that are asymmetrical, mostly multi-colored or black and that are more than 6 mm across.
2. Brown Disclosure
A long brown line forms on the abdomen of many pregnant women. Known as the linea nigra, this black line is formed due to hormonal changes. Similar lines can be seen in the hips and thighs as well. It is a natural part of pregnancy and there is nothing to worry about. These lines fade after delivery. Eczema and darkening of the skin are also seen in some women. If the condition becomes excessive and unbearable, consult your doctor for some moisturizer or ointment.
3. Skin Tags
Like moles, it is also common to develop small, loose, harmless skin tags during pregnancy. These tags mostly appear on the arms and under the breasts. They mostly appear during the second and third trimesters due to the increase in the levels of estrogen and progesterone hormones. Unfortunately, you can’t do anything to stop them. But you can easily remove them after pregnancy after consulting your doctor.
Stretch marks or distance is a common change that occurs during pregnancy. The uterus expands to make room for the growing baby and along with it the abdominal muscles also get stretched. It is also common to have stretch marks in the skin in areas such as the breasts, buttocks and hips. After delivery, the redness of the skin returns to normal, but the scar remains forever. If you are concerned about scars, apply ointments to speed up the healing process.
5. Acne breakouts
From blackheads to whiteheads, hormonal changes in pregnancy can lead to severe acne. These acnes are quite different from those that come out during the teenage days. These acne outbreaks can be quite difficult to handle and may persist during pregnancy. It is better that you do not treat any kind of acne on your own. Talk to your dermatologist or doctor for proper treatment.
