Simone Biles wept in front of Senate while testifying on sexual abuse, condemns US Olympic Committee and FBI

Olympic gymnast Simone Biles told lawmakers on Wednesday how the FBI, US gymnastics and Olympic officials failed to stop sexual abuse. He told that he and hundreds of other athletes were suffering from former doctor Larry Nassar. “I clearly blame Larry Nassar and the whole system that enabled his crime,” she said.

He said this before the US Senate Judiciary Committee along with fellow gymnasts MacKayla Maroney, Aly Raisman and Maggie Nichols. Simone Biles wept while testifying in front of the Senate. Biles said USA Gymnastics and the US Olympic and Paralympic Committee failed to act, while the FBI turned a blind eye. He said the FBI had miserably failed to investigate Nassar and continued to exploit other victims for more than a year before eventually being arrested.

FBI Director Chris Wray made no excuses and said the bureau had fired one of the agents who falsified the details of Maroney’s 2015 interview about the exploitation. It is worth noting that Larry was first sentenced to 60 years in 2017 for possessing child porn. Hundreds of girls had accused him of sexual abuse under MeToo. Larry Nassar was sentenced to 175 and 125 years in prison by two different courts after being found guilty in this case.
