Mumbai . The shooting of Fardeen Khan’s comeback film ‘Explosion’ will begin next week, which also stars Riteish Deshmukh. ‘Blast’ marks Fardeen’s return to the big screen after 11 years. Fardeen, son of late veteran star Feroz Khan, was last seen on the silver screen in the 2010 film ‘Dulha Mil Gaya’.
The muhurat puja of Kookie Gulati-directed ‘Blast’ took place on Friday and was attended by the film’s cast.
Director Gulati said, “This combination and the opportunity to work with actors like Riteish and Fardeen is really rare. I can’t wait to share this incredible story with the audience.”
“Explosion” is the official remake of the 2012 Venezuelan film “Rock, Paper, Scissors”, which was selected as that country’s entry for Best Foreign Language Film at the 85th Academy Awards.
The thriller thrives on the clash between the city’s stark contrasts – Dongri’s ‘chawls’ and tall buildings.
Sanjay Gupta, whose company White Feather Films is producing the film, said, “Every film has its own destiny and timing. This film happened to me when the world came to a standstill in the pandemic.”
T-Series head Bhushan Kumar is supporting the film. He said, “As a producer, I always look for something new. On ‘Blast’, we have Sanjay Gupta, who has a signature style of making films and we have Kookie Gulati.”
Presented by T-Series and Sanjay Gupta, ‘Blast’ is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Anuradha Gupta and Sanjay Gupta and directed by Kookie Gulati. (IANS)
