Digital Desk, New Delhi. After capturing Afghanistan, the Taliban also formed an interim government. In which Pakistan had a major contribution. Now Pakistan was in full swing to get the Taliban included in the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation to be held in New York, USA on 25 September. But that did not succeed and the meeting of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) has been cancelled. Let us tell you that most of the countries involved in SAARC were against Pakistan’s demand to include the Taliban in the meeting. The Foreign Minister of Pakistan had gone on a foreign tour with the Taliban taking power and began to gather support for the Taliban. It seems that now Pakistan is trying to keep the remote of the whole of Afghanistan with itself. But from everywhere, Pakistan has to return empty handed.
Significantly, when most of the SAARC member countries were not ready to accept Pakistan’s demand that the Foreign Minister of the Taliban government should be included in this meeting, then the demand was put on behalf of Pakistan. After this, Pakistan put a condition that at any cost the foreign minister of the previous government of Afghanistan i.e. Ashraf Ghani’s government should not be allowed to attend this meeting. But most of the SAARC countries have also disagreed on this condition of Pakistan. Finally, it was decided to cancel the meeting to be held on 25 September. Actually, this is a big setback for Pakistan because the demand to include the Foreign Minister of Taliban in this meeting has been turned down.
