Shipment of Covid-19 medical supplies to North Korea begins: WHO | Shipping of corona medical supplies to North Korea begins: WHO – Bhaskar

Digital Desk, Seoul. The World Health Organization (WHO) said that COVID-19 medical supplies to North Korea have been started through China’s Dalian port. North Korea has eased its long-enforced stringent border controls amid the global pandemic. The Yonhap news agency reported that North Korea had tightened border controls since the outbreak of the coronavirus in China, shutting down key supplies and medical supplies.

In July, North Korea closed a major shipping route connecting Dalian to its western port of Nampo. To support DPR Korea (North Korea) with essential COVID-19 medical supplies, the WHO began shipments via Dalian, the organization said in its weekly report. North Korea has claimed to be corona virus free for its anti-epidemic campaign.

According to the latest WHO report, a total of 40,700 North Korean citizens have been tested for coronavirus, but as of 23 September 2021, no cases of Kovid-19 have been reported.
