Rohit Sharma told his future strategy, said big thing on Ashwin’s bowling

KolkataIndia defeated New Zealand 3-0 to win the series. On this, T20 captain Rohit Sharma has described the bowlers as the biggest plus point of the series for the host team.

He also praised off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, saying that he was present as an attacking option for the team, especially in the middle overs.

India won the series by 3-0

Under new captain Sharma and head coach Rahul Dravid, India beat New Zealand by 73 runs in Kolkata to win the series 3-0, beginning their preparations for next year’s T20 World Cup in Australia.

Sharma said in the post-match press conference that the bowlers performed well in the series. After an explosive start by New Zealand in our first two T20Is, the bowlers actually made a comeback. We did well in all three matches.

Regarding fielding, he said that whenever I go to the field, I always want to think about how many runs we have saved and in all three matches we have saved about 15 runs. Also scored two run outs in Sunday’s match.

Rohit praises Ashwin fiercely

Captain Sharma heaped special praise on Ashwin, who has taken nine wickets since making his T20I comeback during the World Cup. In the series against New Zealand, Ashwin took important wickets while curbing runs in the middle overs.

He further said about Ashwin that I think it has been a great comeback for Ashwin. He impressed everyone with the red ball as well as the white ball. His record is not bad, the way he bowled in Dubai and then did well in two matches here. It shows the qualities that he possesses. He is always an attacking option for the captain.

Sharma further talked about Ashwin’s partnership with left-arm spinner Axar Patel and said that both of them together gave New Zealand dust in the series.

Difficult to score runs against Axar and Ashwin

According to Rohit Sharma, in the middle overs, you need to brake on the run rate, scoring rate and take wickets. So, I think that’s what Ashwin and Akshar did. Both these players are wicket-taking options and when they bowl it becomes difficult for the opposing team to score runs.

He said that both the players bowl well during the match. Hence, always putting pressure on the opposition team by taking wickets while bowling in the crucial overs as a good option for the captain.

Need to provide healthy environment to players

Talking about the environment of the Indian team, Sharma said that players need to be given a healthy environment to perform at their best.

According to Sharma, when you are playing a bilateral series, you have to keep a lot of subjects in mind and we are trying to do that. We are trying to create a healthy atmosphere in the team and giving better security to the players so that they can play fearlessly on the field.

Further, Sharma said that you will always be recognized when you try to do something for the team under pressure by taking responsibility in your hands. It is the job of the captain and coach to tell the players that when they get a chance, try to do good for the team.
