Australian Open organizers said Federer is recovering from his knee injury, due to which he will not be able to participate in the tournament this year. Federer has been away from the game since February due to his knee surgery and recently started practicing. This will be the first time since his debut in 2000 that the veteran would not be seen playing at the Australian Open. He has won this title six times in his career.
