The CTD said in a statement that out of the 40 suspected terrorists, eight have been arrested from Lahore, Hafizabad, Gujranwala and Sheikhupura. The arrested terrorists belong to Daesh (ISIS), Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (JeJ) and Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan (SSP) and were involved in various terror activities including terror financing.

Weapons have been recovered from their possession, the statement said. The arrested persons have been identified as Muhammad Mushtaq, Sami Ullah Habib, Adil Jamal, Osama Khalid, Mamshali Khan, Hafiz Abdul Rehman, Kashif Mahmood and Mansoor Ahmed. The CTD said that FIRs have been registered against them in various police stations and they are being questioned to find out their terror network.
