New Delhi, 14 June. The second wave of the corona virus epidemic exposed the health system across the country. In many states, due to shortage of medicines, medical oxygen and beds, many times more Kovid patients died than in the first wave. Oxygen Express trains were operated to reach Pranavayu i.e. medical oxygen to the patients amid the orgy of the deadly epidemic. Indian Railways continuously supplied Liquid Medical Oxygen to every nook and corner of the country by trains day and night.
After controlling the second wave of Corona to a great extent, now a big information has been shared by the Ministry of Railways. In the midst of the second wave of the pandemic, the Railways supplied more than 30,000 metric tonnes of Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) to various states and union territories through Oxygen Express trains, the statement said. According to the Ministry of Railways, in the last few months, Indian Railways has transported about 20,182 metric tonnes of LMO in more than 1734 tankers to various states of the country.

Not only this, a total of 421 Oxygen Expresses have completed their journey so far in this ongoing fight against Corona virus. It was informed by the ministry that so far Oxygen Express trains have carried 3797 tonnes in Uttar Pradesh, 656 tonnes in Madhya Pradesh, 614 tonnes in Maharashtra, 5722 tonnes in Delhi, 2354 tonnes in Haryana, 98 tonnes in Rajasthan, 320 tonnes in Uttarakhand, 225 tonnes in Punjab, 513 tonnes in Kerala, 2972 tonnes in Telangana, 38 tonnes in Jharkhand and 480 tonnes in Assam. In addition Oxygen Express has transported more than 3,600, 3,700 and 4900 MT LMOs in the state of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu respectively.
