The accused was afraid that this might not happen, so the mother of the accused pressured Nikita to get married over the phone, and with this fear, Tauseef wanted to kidnap her again. On Monday, he was trying to take along, and on protesting, he shot and killed Nikita.

Angry relatives and protesters staged a sit-in strike:

Angry family members and protesters blocked the Delhi-Mathura National Highway in Ballabhgarh on Tuesday afternoon. During this time, the protesters are raising slogans of “Haryana Police Murdabad, UP Police Zindabad”. The family alleges that the accused wanted to forcibly convert the girl and failed, killing her. Police have arrested both the accused Tausif and Rehan in the case. Rehan was arrested by police from Nuh in Haryana. Both are in police custody.
