Digital Desk, Sydney. The Australian state of New South Wales (NSW) will end the COVID hotel quarantine requirements for people entering the state from 1 November. Premier Dominic Perrot shared this information on Friday. Perrott said people would only need a COVID test before flying and they would also have to show proof of complete vaccination, Xinhua news agency reported.

He told a news conference that Sydney, NSW is now open for business to vaccinated people around the world. They have also announced that from October 18 there will be restrictions on the number of visitors to homes, outdoor gatherings and hospitality places for those who have not been fully vaccinated. However, travel restrictions between the Sydney capital and regional areas will remain in force until 1 November.

Perrot said that we have made a decision today, that regional travel from Greater Sydney is suspended. I know it will be unpopular for many, but as Prime Minister, I believe it is the right decision. Their announcement came after NSW health officials reported that 91.4 percent of people aged 16 and older had received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while 77.8 percent were fully vaccinated. Officials also reported 399 new locally acquired cases and four deaths in the last 24 hours.
