New Delhi, 23 JulyDebate continues across the country regarding the Pegasus espionage case. Meanwhile, a new report came on Thursday evening, in which the phones of industrialist Anil Ambani and a senior ADA Group official were suspected to have been hacked. This hacking attempt took place when Anil’s company came into controversy due to the Rafale aircraft deal. However, it could not be confirmed whether both are using those numbers at present or not.
According to the report of The Wire, Anil Ambani’s number is included in the list of numbers released in the Pegasus project. Apart from Ambani, the company’s corporate communications head Tony Jesudasan along with his wife’s number is also in it. However, the report clearly stated that adding numbers to Pegasus spyware does not mean that its surveillance has been confirmed. Forensic analysis is necessary for its detailed investigation.
Dassault Aviation’s representative in India Venkata Rao Posina, former Saab India chief Inderjit Syal and Boeing India chief Pratyush Kumar also figure in the list that was monitored in 2018 and 2019. The report further stated that the number of Harmanjit Negi, the head of French firm Energy EDF, is also in the leaked database. When the French President visited India, he was part of an official delegation. At the same time his number was added to the list.
Amnesty International clarified, said – Pegasus report is correct, we stand by the results
According to The Wire, the number of former CBI chief Alok Verma was also on the list of Pegasus spyware. In 2018, he had an internal dispute with special director Rakesh Asthana. Meanwhile, the Center removed him from the post. As soon as he left office, his number was added to the list an hour later. Along with him, the numbers of his wife, daughter and son-in-law were also being spied on.
