Mumbai. Actor Mukul Chadha is playing a pivotal role in the upcoming web series ‘Sunflower’, a strange murder mystery set in a housing society. He shares tales of strange rules that often exist in city housing societies.

Recalling his early memories of looking for an apartment to rent when he came to Mumbai, Mukesh says that after a while it sank into his mind as to what strange rule he would hear from the next housing society.

Mukul told IANS: “There are housing societies where dogs are not allowed, bachelors are not allowed. I was told by a landlord that they do not encourage any Bollywood members and as I am an actor, They would not give apartments for me. Because of their discriminatory attitude towards a specific religious group I moved out of another housing society. Although they had nothing against me, if a housing society was towards people on the basis of their religious identity. If you have this kind of negative attitude, don’t be there instead.”

However, according to him, the most remarkable things happen to young live-in couples!

He laughed and said, “As we know it is tough for live-in couples to get a house. There are many who keep fake marriage certificates to rent the house. A couple of friends of mine rented a place and told the society that they were married. Eventually, they got married but on their wedding day, they could not invite any of their neighbors, because in the eyes of the society, they were officially already married! Went, got married and returned to the building like a regular couple, but they didn’t dress like newlyweds!”

The web series ‘Sunflower’ revolves around a murder that takes place in a housing society. The show also stars Sunil Grover, Ranvir Shorey, Girish Kulkarni, Shonali Nagrani, Sonal Jha and Ashish Vidyarthi and will release on June 11 on ZEE5.(IANS)
