Chinese companies present in the Indian market were given a big shock. Piyush Goyal, Minister of Commerce and Industry of the Indian Government has launched a GeM.

What is GeM?

An e-marketplace of the Indian government, which has a full-fledged government e-marketplace.

 Through the portal, you can sell your goods to government companies and departments. It will only have indigenous content and it will get the exact information about the product. It was launched by Prime Minister Modi in 2016 but now a feature “country of origin” has been added to it.

GeM new terms:

Note the things if you want to use GeM too.

      * You have to give complete information about your goods, what percentage of indigenous content is put in it, at least 50% should be domestic.

      * Sellers who have not uploaded their product and full information about which country they are from the origin will have to be uploaded as soon as possible or else will be excluded from the portal.

      * Applicants’ industry base, identity card, cross-check, PAN card, VAT / TIN number, etc. will be mandatory for new registration, and applicants can register through this link.

      * Government departments can buy only 50000 items from this portal.

Who can be the applicant?

           In this, anyone can apply who produces, the government will come out in it and the trader who is cheap and with at least 50% of domestic product will get that job.
