Martin Guptill became the first batsman in the world, broke Kohli’s world record

New Delhi: Virat Kohli’s world record was broken in the second T20 match played between India and New Zealand in Ranchi. The Kiwi team’s opener Martin Guptill made the historic achievement in his name.

World’s first batsman in T20 cricket

New Zealand opener Martin Guptill has overtaken former Indian captain Virat Kohli in terms of scoring the most runs in T20 cricket. Now Guptill has become the first batsman in the world. In the Ranchi T20, Guptill scored 31 off 15 balls and was dismissed by Deepak Chahar.

Guptill has played 107 innings

Virat Kohli has scored 3227 runs in 87 innings, while Martin Guptill has scored 3248 runs in 107 innings. Talking about the average, Virat is much ahead of Guptill. Virat averages 52.04, while Guptill averages 32.80. India’s new captain Rohit Sharma is at number three in this list. He has scored 3086 runs in 109 innings.

Guptill was 11 runs away before the match

Before the Ranchi T20 match, Guptill needed 11 runs to break Kohli’s record. He hit three fours in the very first over of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and left Virat behind. However, he also got a lifeline in the fourth ball.

When KL Rahul tried to catch Guptill while running back at mid off. But the ball fell out of his hand and Guptill was saved from getting out.

After this, he broke Virat Kohli’s record of most T20 runs by hitting another four on the last ball of this over. Rohit Sharma is at the third position in terms of scoring the most runs in T20 cricket. Rohit Sharma is at number three in this list. He scored 3086 runs in 117 matches.
