He said after casting his vote in the capital Algiers on Saturday, according to a brief statement to local media, that elections are the last weapon in the process of building a modern state. The renewal process began with a popular referendum on a new constitution in November 2020 and parliamentary elections were held in June this year. According to data provided by the National Independent Authority for Elections. More than 15,000 candidates are in the fray for the elections.
