Koi Jaane Na Film Review: The story is not difficult, but what is the reason for making it

Koi Jaane Na Film Review: Amazon Prime Video The film ‘Koi Jaane Na’ has recently been released on Amazon Prime Video. The film begins and after about 10 minutes have passed, you too can understand why the film was made – Koi Jaane Na. Suspense, Murder, Love Story, Psychiatric Problem, Novelist who writes motivational books and co-writes Pulp Fiction, Cops who don’t act like cops, A killer who imitates killing style, A blackmailer Journalist, a blackmailer with a photo studio, two murders and no idea what.

The story is not difficult, but what is the reason for making it – no one knows. Kunal Kapoor is a talented actor. Everyone was impressed by his role in Rang De Basanti, he gets less work on screen and he also counts a little. What was in his mind while accepting this film? A novelist who is divorced, his wife cheats on him and marries his publisher. Kunal writes books in secret for another publisher, and to do his research, he wears different clothes and goes to different places, meets and studies different people. In the meantime, he even kills the enemy of the society.

Kunal goes to Goa to write his new novel, where he gives Amyra Dastur a lift on the way and slowly falls in love with her. Then an investigative journalist starts blackmailing Kunal after discovering the secret of changing his appearance and writing for another publisher. The journalist and his accomplice are killed and the blame falls on Kunal. Will he be able to get out of the trouble he has created – no one knows. Actor Amin Haji, who played the role of Bagha, who plays the drummer in the temple in the film Lagaan, is also the writer and director of this film.

Amin has previously written films like Swades and Jodha Akbar. He is an old friend of Aamir Khan and that is why Aamir accepted to do a cameo in this film. At the beginning of the film, a song is filmed on him which he shot with Elli Avram. For the shooting of this song, Aamir stopped the shooting of his home production ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’. There is no measure of friendship, but friends are expected to maintain the image of their friend. The story is very confusing. Kunal Kapoor is an English language writer, runs a YouTube channel, delivers motivational lectures, writes novels in Hindi, cheap and sold at bus stands, drives a jeep, helps him research the characters of his novels. By applying make-up, sometimes clergymen, sometimes they keep on becoming chieftains or something like that, sometimes they even eliminate criminals. Such a versatile character should be somewhere else, just not in the film. In Kunal’s Hindi novel, the main character is Zaran Khan, who keeps fighting against crime. With the intention of doing research for this character, Kunal kills the criminals. With him is Amyra Dastur, who may not have learned to speak Hindi yet. But more importantly, she hasn’t even learned acting. Atul Kulkarni plays the role of Dr Rao, and his time and acting talent are both wasted. Raj Zutshi has done a good job in a small role. Both the children of Amin Haji have also played the role of child artist. The role of Aditi Govitrikar and Achint Kaur was very half cooked. As the villain of the film, Amin has twin brother Karim, who is seen over-acting in his brother’s film. The weakest player is Ashwini Kalsekar in the role of a cop.

In Goa, Ashwini probably keeps shooting Rohit Shetty’s films, and taking time out of that, she worked in Koi Jaane Na. Ashwini’s character in this film is very weak, weak and directionless. This is the first feature film directed by Amin Haji and it is difficult to forgive him just because the film has so many layers and they were not needed. Writing a story is one thing and creating a screenplay for the story is another. The writer always falls in love with his work and does not want to cut any scene. To keep every scene in the film, someone finds some justification. Same happened with Amin. The music in the film is just average.

Composed by Tanishk Bagchi, no one remembers a song other than ‘Harfan Moula’ featuring Aamir and Elli. The rest of the songs have been shared by Rochak Kohli and Armaan Malik. There is also a remix of Anil Kapoor’s superhit song ‘Zindagi Ki Yehi Reet Hai’ from Meri Jung. The cinematographer is Arun Prasad, there is no novelty in the works. Goa has some colors which every cinematographer does. Another friend of Amin’s editor is Ballu Saluja, who has edited films like Lagaan, Swades and Jodha Akbar. No one knows what had happened to his art and craft. Very bad editing done. If you do not watch the film, nothing will go wrong. There is nothing good or worth remembering. There is no reason to watch the entire film except a little Aamir Khan and Elli Avram’s sexy dance.
