Chennai | Mumbai Indians once again successfully defended the low score. Defending champions Mumbai defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 13 runs in the ninth match of IPL 2021 played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium here on Saturday. This is Mumbai Indians’ second win in three matches and has now reached the top of the table with four points. At the same time, Hyderabad has suffered their third consecutive defeat.
Batting first after winning the toss, Mumbai Indians scored 150 runs for five wickets and then bowled out Hyderabad for 137 runs in 19.4 overs.
For Sunrisers Hyderabad, Johnny Bairstow scored 43 off 22 balls with the help of three fours and four sixes and captain David Warner scored 36 runs off 34 balls with two fours and the same sixes. Vijay Shankar scored 28 runs. For Mumbai Indians, Rahul Chahar and Trent Boult took three each, while Krunal Pandya and Jaspreet Bumrah took one wicket each.
