Investigation into Diego Maradona’s death: Police searched football star’s doctor’s home and clinic

Argentine police investigated the death of football star Diego Maradona and searched his personal doctor’s home and clinic. Journalists saw several police officers stationed at the door of Neurologist Doctor Leopoldo Lucke’s office.

According to a statement from the San Isidro lawyer’s office, court investigators are taking statements from Maradona’s relatives. Lawyers are investigating the medical treatment Maradona received before his death on Wednesday to see if there was any negligence.

Investigators were trying to obtain Maradona’s medical records, according to the statement. Maradona was cremated on 26 November with only two dozen people present. He died of a heart attack at his home in Buenos Aires.

At the same time, football legend Diego Maradona’s doctor Leopoldo Luque has ruled out any medical error, saying that every effort was made to save Maradona.

Veteran footballer Maradona died of a heart attack on 25 November. Maradona, 60, was discharged from the hospital two weeks before his death, where he underwent brain surgery.
