Digital Desk, Jakarta. Indonesia will start giving corona booster shots after 50 percent of the country’s population is fully vaccinated against this coronavirus. Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin gave this information.
Sadikin told a parliamentary hearing on Monday that booster vaccination is a sensitive issue related to equality. Right now there are many countries where corona vaccines do not have access. Sadiqin said that since Indonesia has reached 39 percent of the current second dose of vaccines, Xinhua news agency reported. The booster will launch in late December ahead of an initial plan to begin in early 2022.
Priority will be given to the elderly for Corona’s booster vaccine and then given to the poor for free, while others will have to pay for the booster. Meanwhile, restrictions in Java and Bali have been extended till November 15.
