Indian Super League: Mumbai City beat Bengaluru FC 3-1, club tops the table

Bambolim. Mumbai City FC Indian Super League (ISL-2021) defeated Bengaluru FC 3-1 in the match played on Saturday night of football competition. Igor Angulo opened the account of Mumbai City by converting a penalty in the 9th minute. Clayton Silva, playing for the Bangalore team (Bengaluru FC), equalized the score by scoring a free kick in the 20th minute. Both the teams were tied at 1-1 till half time but in the second half Mumbai scored 2 goals which later proved to be decisive.

ISL In this match, Mortada Fall put Mumbai City ahead again in the 54th minute with a header while Yagor Katau ensured their victory in the 85th minute. This is the third win for Mumbai City in four matches, taking them to 9 points. With this he has reached the top of the table. Bengaluru suffered a second defeat and have only 4 points from 4 matches.

Mumbai City head coach Des Buckingham was very happy with this brilliant performance of his team. He said that the team made a comeback after the defeat from Hyderabad. He said after the match, ‘I am proud of this team which is playing in different styles and winning matches. After the defeat from Hyderabad, the players made a strong comeback. I think there is always room for improvement. We played well against Hyderabad too but the opposition was much better at that time. We want the same rhythm to continue.
