new Delhi. Virat Kohli-led Team India has already lost the ODI series against Australia and now has a chance to avoid clean sweep in the three-match ODI series on Tuesday. The third ODI between India and Australia will be played in Canberra. Both the previous matches were played in Sydney, where the Indian bowlers proved ineffective.

The star of the team, fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah too could not do anything special and due to this he is facing a lot of criticism. Even Mohammed Shami’s magic could not work. However, in the first match, Shami was better than the rest of the bowlers. He bowled with an economy of less than 6 runs with three wickets. But in the second match, he did not appear in his rhythm. The Australian batsmen took advantage of it well and set a big target of 390 runs in front of India. Along with the team, Shami’s eye is also on showing his magic with the ball in Canberra.

Shami close to becoming fastest Indian bowler to take 150 wickets

For the past few years, Shami has been performing wonderfully in all three formats. He has become the bowler of the Indian team. Despite this, no one could get the attention of some of Shami’s records. He is consistently doing well in ODI cricket and is now just two wickets away from Shami Ajit Agarkar’s demolition of 18 years old record. Shami has 148 wickets in 79 ODIs and he has the chance to become the fastest bowler to take 150 wickets in Canberra.Read also:

If Shami takes two wickets in Canberra, he will become the fastest bowler to take 150 wickets as well as become the third bowler in the world after Mitchell Starc and Saqlain Mushtaq to do so. Starc had completed 77 and Mushtaq completed 150 wickets in 79 matches. Even though the way of becoming the third bowler in the world to take the fastest 150 seems a bit tough for Shami, but nothing can stop him from breaking the record of taking the fastest 150 wickets in Indian ODI cricket. Actually, Agarkar had completed 150 wickets in 97 matches.
