High-level meeting to be held today at 11:30 am with 12th board and entrance examinations

Due to corona virus, this year most of the states have postponed the class 12th board examination. At the same time, students are demanding that the examinations be canceled. In such a situation, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank had informed by tweeting that, on May 23, a high level meeting will be held with the Education Ministers, Education Secretary, State Examination Board Chairpersons and Stakeholders of all the states. Let me tell you, this virtual meeting will be held at 11.30 am today.

In which there will be a discussion about the conduct of class 12th board examination and other entrance examinations for professional courses. Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will preside over the meeting in the presence of Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, Women and Child Minister Smriti Zubin Irani and Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar. The Education Minister has also sought valuable suggestions from students, teachers, parents and others on this.

The Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education and CBSE are exploring options regarding conducting examinations keeping in mind the safety of students and teachers. Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ said in a letter to states and union territories, ‘Higher education department is also considering finalizing the dates of examinations for higher education institutions’.

The letter mentions that the COVID-19 epidemic has affected various sectors including the education sector, especially board exams and entrance exams. Considering the current situation, almost all the state education boards, CBSE and CISCE have postponed their class 12 board exam 2021. Similarly, the National Testing Agency (NTA) and other national examination conducting institutes have also postponed the entrance examination for admission.
