Heroin and drugs worth Rs 313 crore seized from Pakistan in Gujarat, three arrested

Dwarka (Gujarat). Gujarat Police has seized heroin and drugs worth Rs 313 crore brought from Pakistan and arrested three people in this regard. On Thursday, a police officer said that during the raids on Wednesday, 45 kg of heroin worth Rs 225 crore was seized from two people in 47 packets. Earlier on Tuesday, on the information of the informer, Sajjad Ghosi, a resident of Thane, Maharashtra, was arrested from a guest house in Khambhalia city. From this, 19 packets containing 11.483 kg of heroin and 6.168 kg of methamphetamine drugs were seized collectively.

Devbhoomi Dwarka Superintendent of Police Sunil Joshi said Sajjad Ghosi has been arrested from a guest house. Drugs worth Rs 88.25 crore were recovered from it. Ghosi, a vegetable vendor from Thane’s Mumbra area, had come to Khambhalia a few days ago to take delivery of drugs. Ghosi told the police that he had taken this delivery from two brothers named Salim Kara and Ali Kara. After this, the police raided the house of the Kara brothers in the coastal town of Salaya. From here the police have seized 47 packets filled with suspicious substances. It was investigated.

Officials said that preliminary inquiries revealed that the seized drugs were transported from Pakistan to Gujarat via sea route. Superintendent of Police Sunil Joshi said that after tests, it was found that 47 packets contained about 45 kg of heroin, which is worth around Rs 225 crore in the international market.

At the same time, preliminary investigation has revealed that accused Ghosi has an old criminal record and has also served a jail term. At the same time, the district police said in the release that Salim Kara was arrested in cases related to murder and Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, Counterfeit Currency and Arms Act. A senior police officer said that preliminary investigation also revealed that the seized drugs had come from Pakistan and were smuggled into Gujarat by the Kara brothers by sea route. Police said three people have been arrested after the drug was recovered.
