Hello visitors, today is the birthday of Gulshan Kumar. Gulshan Kumar(5 May 1956-12 August 1997) was an Indian businessman and he was also the founder of a T-series music label and he was also a famous Bollywood movie producer. In 1997 Gulshan Kumar was murdered by the Mumbai underworld syndicate D-Company. The music label T-series after the death of Gulshan Kumar was managed and run by Krishan Kumar and son Bhushan Kumar and the two daughters of Bhushan Kumar Tulsi Kumar and Khushali Kumar are playback singers.

About Gulshan Kumar and his early life:

The full name of Gulshan Kumar is Gulshan Kumar Dua and his father was Chandrabhan Kumar Dua. His father was a fruit vendor to see the streets of the Daryaganj neighborhood of Delhi. He started working with his father in early age. He was also a worshiper Shri Shivji and Devi Parvati Ji as he was the follower of Shaiva tradition. When his family started selling records in inexpensive audio cassettes this foreshadowed the onset of the first music company.

Gulshan Kumar music business and his film career:

Gulshan Kumar opened his own audio cassettes operation known as “super cassettes industries” which profited him in his business and he began a music production company in Noida and after growing up in business he moved to Mumbai.

 

   The first movie in Bollywood of Gulshan Kumar was Lal Dupatta Malmal Ka is 1989 after which a big hit Aashiqui in 1990 which is remembered for its music by Nadeem-Shravan. After which he worked in many movies including Bahaar Aane Tak, Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahin.

When Gulshan Kumar was alive T-series emerged as one of the top music labels in India and it continues to grow up. In today’s world, T-Series acquire more than 60% of the Indian music market and in the international market T-Series turnover is about 4.2 million dollars, and it exports to 24 countries across six continents and it has the largest network of about 2500 dealers in India.

A film based on the story of Gulshan Kumar:

In 2017, T-Series declared his plans to produce a biographical film about Gulshan Kumar which is titled as Mogul- The Gulshan Kumar story. This is an upcoming film. This film is directed by Subhash Kapoor and produced by Bhushan Kumar and Aamir Khan under the banner of T-series and Aamir Khan production.

About the death of Gulshan Kumar:

Gulshan Kumar was shot in the Jeeteshwar Mahadev Mandir, in Vijay Nagar, Andheri West, Mumbai on 12 August 1997. Gulshan Kumar was shot 16 times.

 

    On the days when Gulshan Kumar was shot his Bodyguard, provided by Uttar Pradesh government was sick and Gulshan Kumar was received threatening calls on 5 and 8 August 1997 but he refused to pay extortion money. The hired killers including Rauf and Abdul Rashid tried to kill him that month but was failed due to bodyguards.

 

    The Mumbai underworld organization D-Company was to have been responsible for the incident. Police also accused film composer Nadeem Saifi of the music duo Nadeem-Shravan of having paid for murder due to personal issues and he fled away from the country. For more information visit Wikipedia.
