       In Hinduism, Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated as the birth anniversary of Hanuman, the supreme devotee of Maryada Purushottam Lord Shri Rama. It is celebrated on the full moon of Chaitra Maha. It is also believed that Lord Hanuman was born on this day. Hanuman ji is also called Sankat Mochan.

       It is said that if the devotees remember Lord Hanuman in distress, then he removes all the troubles of the devotees, and the devotees have no fear of any kind. Asuri Shakti ends with the mere name of Lord Hanuman.

        The festival of Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated with great happiness. It is made as Hanuman Jayanti on the day of Hanuman’s birth anniversary. It is believed that Ravana got divine power only after the Krishna incarnation of Lord Vishnu, from which Ravana sought a boon from Lord Shiva for his sprain, to give him some remedy for attaining salvation. Then Lord Shiva was born on earth as Hanuman so that Ravana could attain salvation from the hands of Lord Shri Rama. 

       People believe that Lord Hanuman is the 11th incarnation of Lord Shiva, Lord Shiva was born in the form of Hanuman from the womb of Mother Anjani. People consider Hanuman ji as powerful and goodwilling. This festival is celebrated with great happiness and joy in India.

When is the auspicious time of Hanuman Jayanti?

Hanuman Jayanti date is according to Hindu calendar, on Chaitra Shukla Purnima. It is dated 8 April 2020. People in India celebrate Hanuman Jayanti according to their parents. Punima Date: April 7 will start at 12:01 pm and will end at 08:04 on the morning of the 8th.

 

The festival of Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated very beautifully in the country. On this day, the devotees observe Hanuman ji fast throughout the day, and also recite Hanuman Chalisa together. Some people also recite Sunderkand. It is also believed that by reciting Hanuman Chalisa 5 or 11 times a day, Hanuman ji always maintains his grace on his devotees. After fasting throughout the day, the devotees take the prasad after performing the Aarti in the evening. However, in some temples people also organize bhandara. Fairs are also organized in Siddha temples.

Method of worship of Hanuman Jayanti:

    On the day of Hanuman Jayanti, people should wake up in the morning and bathe and chant the mantras of Sri Rama and Hanuman. After this, wearing clean clothes, an idol or statue of Hanuman should be installed in the north direction. The idol of Hanuman ji should be kept in an upright position. A vermilion should be offered on the idol of Hanuman. Betting of betel leaf should also be increased. It is also believed that one should enjoy food from worship.

    On this day one should recite Sunderkand and Hanuman Chalisa and recite Ramcharitmanas. Fast should be observed on this day very cleanly. Hanuman ji was a brahmachari, he stays away from the touch of women. In such a case, women who observe Hanuman ji fast, they should offer lamps to Hanuman ji and should not touch the idol of Hanuman ji while worshiping. 

     Hanuman ji is very devoted to purity in the fast. Salt should not be consumed on the day of fasting.
