Based on this sample data, the researchers tried to find out how many people who did not have periodontitis, but had heart failure, cardiovascular diseases such as stroke, cardio metabolic disorders (such as high blood pressure, type 2. Diabetes), Arthritis, Type-1 Diabetes, Psoriasis and other serious mental diseases including depression, restlessness. This observation came to the fore within three years of starting the study.

An analysis of the data found that those who had had periodontitis at the start of the study had a 37 percent higher risk of developing psychosis. While the risk of autoimmune diseases such as arthritis, type-1 diabetes was 33 percent, the risk of cardiovascular disease was 18 percent and the risk of cardiometabolic disorders was 7 percent. Of these, the highest 26 percent risk was of having diabetes type 2.
