In his resignation letter, the Captain has written in detail about his journey in the Congress party, the achievements made during his tenure and his dispute with Sidhu. The Captain had dismissed reports of behind-the-scenes talks with the Congress three days before his resignation, saying the time for reconciliation was over and his decision to quit the party was final.

Captain Amarinder Singh said last week that he would soon form his new party and was hopeful of a seat-sharing deal with the BJP in the 2022 elections if there is some solution in the interest of farmers over the three agriculture laws.
