Himachal: thousands of migratory birds killed in Pong lake
Sanctuary of these migratory birds has been made in the Pong reservoir of Kangra, about 300 km from Himachal Pradesh’s capital Shimla. The colorful birds of various species from Russia, Siberia, Central Asia, China, Tibet, etc. arrive in Pong Lake every year from October to March on a long flight and attract tourists. So far this year 1700 birds have died in just a few days. After this, the district administration has prohibited the sale of poultry products, including chicken, eggs, around this reservoir. The area falling within a kilometer radius of Pong Lake has been declared an alert zone. The administration has banned all activities in the lake due to the fear of bird flu.
Bird flu declared a national disaster in Kerala
In the states of North and Central India, where the bird flu is increasing, the flu has knocked in the south. Bird flu has been confirmed in Alappuzha and Kottayam districts of Kerala. In view of the flu in the state of Kerala, a national disaster has been declared. Administration has been alerted in case of bird flu cases, control rooms have been set up and QRT Quick Reaction Teams have been deployed in both the districts. Please tell that in the last week of December, many ducks were found dead in both the district. 8 samples were sent to Bhopal’s lab, out of which flu was detected in 5, so far about 1700 ducks have died.
Crows died in Mandsaur and Khargone in Madhya Pradesh
Cases of bird flu have also been reported in some areas of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. Several ravens were found dead on January 1 in a lush green area in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, in which bird flu was confirmed. After this, the administration has started a campaign to detect patients with symptoms of cold, cough and fever. After Indore, crows have also died in Mandsaur and Khargone, after which the administration has been alerted. Please tell that during the last three days, 170 crows have died in Mandsaur, while in Khargone, 15 crows have lost their lives. In such a situation, the possibility of spreading the bird flu virus in both these districts has also increased.
Continuation of birds’ death in Rajasthan continues
At the same time, the state level control has been set up by the Department of Animal Husbandry in Rajasthan after the bird flu samples were found in the investigation of the deaths of hundreds of birds. According to the information, ravens have the highest number of birds dying here and most of the cases have come from Kota and Jodhpur divisions. Rajasthan continues to have bird deaths in many districts. More than 170 birds died in various districts on Sunday. According to the Animal Husbandry Department, more than 425 ravens, herons and other birds have died in the state.
One lakh chickens killed in Haryana
The havoc of this disease is also seen in the Haryana state of the country. Here There is a fear of avian flu in the area due to mysterious chickens dying in the Barwala region. About one lakh poultry and chickens have died here. The series of mysterious deaths of chickens began on 5 December.
