Pune. An Army jawan has been accused of attempting to rape an eight-year-old girl in the toilet of a moving train in Maharashtra. The incident took place in the early hours of Tuesday, when the accused first allegedly attempted to rape the girl and when the girl protested bravely, the jawan threw the victim from the moving train.
A senior officer said that the girl later told the police about the jawan’s appearance, with the help of which the accused could be nabbed. The incident took place on the Goa-Nizamuddin Express train between Lonad and Salpa railway stations in Satara district of western Maharashtra, they said.
The girl was going to Delhi with family

Patil said that when the accused allegedly tried to sexually assault the girl, she woke up and started shouting with protest. The superintendent of police said that the accused then asked the girl to take her to her parents’ place. Told to take the pass but after coming out of the toilet, he threw the victim from the moving train. He said that the girl was injured due to slow speed of the train at that time and in the early hours of Tuesday, local people saw her and rushed her to the hospital. Patil said that in the hospital, along with giving information about the whole case, the girl also told the personality of the accused jawan, with the help of which she could be caught.

He said that a search operation was carried out in the train immediately and as per the details given by the girl, 30 suspects were apprehended. Later the girl identified the accused Uphaar. The accused Uphaar Nayak is posted in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh on the rank.
