Paddy acreage increased in Chhattisgarh
In Chhattisgarh this year, the area under paddy has increased from 22.68 lakh hectare to 27 lakh 59 thousand 385 hectare. The central government earlier used to take 4.5 million tonnes of rice from the state, this time it has been increased to 60 lakh tonnes. The state government has also raised the target of paddy procurement from 85 to 90 lakh tonnes. The Chhattisgarh government alleges that due to the delay of FCI, paddy may be destroyed. This may adversely affect the livelihood of 21.52 lakh farmers.

Due to this, paddy is being stored in rice mills in the society. At the same time, Leader of Opposition Dharamlal Kaushik says that the Chhattisgarh government is doing politics on the purchase of paddy. The reality is that she does not want to buy paddy. Permission to purchase paddy was given in the past. The state government was supposed to deposit 28 lakh metric tons by 30 September 2020, but it could not do so.


Dispute over sacks
The state has set a target of purchasing 90 lakh tonnes of paddy. For this, about five lakh bales of gunny will be started. Only one lakh 45 thousand bales of trust were given from the center. Out of this, only one lakh five thousand bails have been found so far.

Farmer crushed in both battles
Chhattisgarh paddy purchased 2500 Rs. Per quintal, which is the highest in the country, but at the moment the farmer has fallen in the battle of the Center and the State. The state has its own allegations and the Center has its own arguments. But the farmers are worried.
