Diego Maradona won the Football World Cup to Argentina in 1986. One of his disputed goals denied England victory. The goal was scored by Maradona but the referee could not see it and the result became Argentina World Champion. This goal of Maradona is famous in football history as ‘Hand of God’.
Maradona’s career sinks after winning World CupThe following year, after winning the World Cup, in 1987, Maradona made the Italian club Napoli the champion of Serie-A. Maradona did the same thing in 1990. Maradona also had his magic in the 1987 Italian Cup and the UEFA Cup.
During this time, Maradona got into the habit of taking cocaine. He left Napoli in 1991 and was banned for 15 months for taking drugs. In 1994, he was dropped from the World Cup in America. Maradona failed the drug test. Maradona suffered from heart ailments only in 1999 when he had to be hospitalized twice. Now in 2020, Maradona also died of a heart attack.
