New Delhi. Actor Aparshakti Khurana is all set to play the lead role in the upcoming film ‘Helmet’.
‘Helmet’ tells the story of people who are hesitant or ashamed to buy condoms from stores because of what society will think of them.
Talking about his debut film in the lead role, Aparshakti shared his excitement in an exclusive conversation with IANS.
He said, “‘Helmet’ presents a social taboo driven through a subtle social message full of humour. For this I need to further explore my creative impulses as an actor. I am truly passionate about life change. I am looking forward to it as this is my first film in the lead role.”
Aparshakti, younger brother of actor Ayushmann Khurrana, has been a part of successful films like ‘Dangal’, ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’, ‘Stree’, ‘Luka Chuppi’, ‘Pati Patni Aur Kaun’.
He said that the process of shooting for the film was challenging as well as enjoyable for him.
He said that “the film is based on a taboo subject, it made me even more challenging and exciting.”
The 33-year-old actor is starring opposite Pranutan Behl. The film also stars Abhishek Banerjee and Ashish Verma in lead roles.
He said, “There is nothing like being a part of a film that has the ability to break a taboo while entertaining people. It is a genre that I personally enjoy and I hope people will too. “
‘Helmet’ is produced by Dino Morea and directed by debutant Satram Ramani.
Talking about the process of getting into the character, he elaborated, “When screenwriters write a character, they have a certain point of view, body language, colloquialism and more about them.”
“When I’m doing a film, my sole aim is to get as close as possible to the screenwriter’s point of view of that character, whether the character is the main one or not.”
‘Helmet’ will release on ZEE5 on September 3. (IANS)
