America will continue to defend itself and its allies against terrorism – US President Joe Biden – President Biden address 76th Session of the United Nations General Assembly | America will continue to defend itself and its allies against terrorism – US President Joe Biden

Digital Desk, New York. Addressing the United Nations General Assembly in New York, US President Biden said, “We do not want another Cold War in which the world is divided.” America is ready to work with any nation that pursues peaceful resolutions, because we have all suffered the consequences of our failures. Biden further said that US military power should be our means of last resort, not our first. We have lost a lot in this time of pain and extraordinary possibilities. We have lost millions of people. Every death is heartbreaking. Today we are facing the threat of terrorism, we have ended 20 years of conflict in Afghanistan. We are opening the doors of diplomacy.

“We lost 13 American heroes and many Afghan civilians in the terrorist attack on Kabul airport last month,” Biden said. Those who perpetrate terrorism against us, treat America as a staunch enemy. America is no longer the same country that was attacked 20 years ago on 9/11. Today we are more powerful and ready for the challenges of terrorism. America will continue to defend itself and its allies against terrorism. The US President said that the UNSC adopted a resolution outlining how to support the people of Afghanistan and hopes for the Taliban. We all should advocate for the rights of women, girls so that they can fulfill their dreams free from violence and intimidation.

Biden said, our security, prosperity, freedom are intertwined. We should work together like never before. Weapons cannot protect us from COVID-19 or future variants, collective science and political will can. We need to work now. We need a new mechanism to finance global health security for the future.
