Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday to accept the demands of farmers. He said that the new farm laws are “completely wrong”. Singh said that the elderly farmers sitting on the borders of Delhi are not there for themselves but for their children and future generations. After hoisting the national flag at the Raja Bhalindra Singh Sports Complex, the Chief Minister said, “The agricultural laws are completely wrong as they are contradictory to federalism and agriculture is a state subject under Schedule Seven of the Constitution.” Appealed to meet the demands. He had hoped that the tractor parade of farmers would be peaceful like their movement till now. He had said, “Be peaceful and the country is with you”. Singh had said that his heart is with the farmers during the Republic Day celebrations.
