Digital Desk, Islamabad. Nine Islamic State (IS) terrorists were killed during a raid in Pakistan’s Balochistan province. A police officer gave this information on Saturday. Anti-Terrorism Department (CTD) official Mahmood Ali told Xinhua news agency that police forces of the Counter-Terrorism Department conducted an intelligence raid on Friday after receiving information that terrorists were hiding in Roshi area of the province’s Mastung district.
The officer said that as soon as the CTD personnel entered and cordoned off the area, the terrorists opened fire and tried to escape, to which the police retaliated effectively. He said that nine terrorists have been killed in the firing. According to the CTD, the slain terrorists were involved in several recent terrorist activities in Balochistan.
A huge cache of arms and ammunition including explosives, grenades and assault rifles have also been recovered from the group’s hideout during the operation.
