Mumbai: On Saturday, 4,130 new cases of corona virus infection were reported in Maharashtra. According to the data given by the state health department, 64 patients were confirmed to have succumbed to the virus. With this, there have been a total of 64,82,117 cases of corona virus infection in Maharashtra while the death toll has reached 1,37,707. At the same time, 2,506 patients have been discharged from hospitals on Saturday, after which the number of people who have become infection free has reached 62,88,851. The number of patients undergoing treatment for infection in the state now stands at 52,025.
Highest 1,560 new cases in Pune region
No cases of Kovid-19 have been found in Hingoli as well as in rural parts of Chandrapur, Nanded, Akola and Nagpur districts and the municipalities of Parbhani, Jalgaon and Dhule. Ahmednagar district has recorded the maximum number of 730 new cases. After this, 506 patients have been found from rural parts of Pune. Out of the 8 regions of the state, Pune region has reported maximum 1,560 new cases, followed by Mumbai region with 951 patients. 857 new cases were reported in Nashik region, 547 in Kolhapur region, 146 in Latur region, 24 in Aurangabad region, 27 in Akola region and 18 in Nagpur region.
Corona vaccination record made on Saturday
There have been 413 new cases in Mumbai city and 4 patients have died while 218 cases have been found in Pune city and no infected have died. Pune district has the highest number of 15,469 active cases. At the same time, 11.91 lakh beneficiaries were vaccinated against Kovid-19 in Maharashtra on Saturday, with which a new record was set for vaccination in a day in the state. Earlier on August 21, over 11.04 lakh doses were administered in a day in the state. According to a statement issued by the Public Health Department, a total of 11,91,921 people were vaccinated on Saturday. A total of 6.27 crore vaccines have been administered in the state so far.
