Gujarat Coronavirus Updates: 1,122 new cases of Kovid-19 (COVID-19) were reported in Gujarat on Wednesday. Health Department official said that for the first time in the last three months, more than one thousand cases have come in a day. With this, the total number of people infected so far in the state has increased to 2,81,173. The official said that on December 21, the number of new cases coming daily had gone down by one thousand but from the last week of February, there was an increase in cases again. The official said that in the last 24 hours, three more patients (one each in Ahmedabad, Surat and Vadodara) have died, due to which the number of people who lost their lives in the state has increased to 4,430. He said that 775 people who had become infection-free in the state were discharged on Wednesday, taking the number of patients to be cured from the disease to 2,71,433, which is 96.45 percent of the total cases.

The official said that the number of patients undergoing treatment in Gujarat is 5,310, out of which 61 patients are on life support system (ventilator). “The maximum number of 353 new cases were reported in Surat on Wednesday,” the official said. Apart from this, 271, 114 and 112 people were confirmed infected in Ahmedabad, Vadodara and Rajkot respectively.

According to the official, 67,734 people were vaccinated in the state on Wednesday. With this, the number of people taking the first and second dose has increased to 22,71,145 and 5,54,662 respectively.
