In January this year, all the teams submitted their list of retained and released players to the BCCI. RCB’s team had released the maximum number of 10 players, while Punjab had discharged from the team of 9 players. Chennai Super Kings, who failed to make it to the playoffs for the first time last season, once again released their 6 players and reposed confidence in their experienced players. The team of Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians retained the most players. The Mumbai team defeated the Delhi Capitals team in the final match of IPL 2020, for a record fifth time in the IPL title.
